Lost- Another Poem

Can you tell I'm looking for inspiration everywhere I turn? I'm enjoying collecting different poems and excerpts. I'm also on a reading kick. Currently on my nightstand: "Tender at the Bone" by Ruth Reichl, A Long Walk to Freedom by Nelson Mandela, and The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. I'll write some reviews when I finish them.

Redwoods in Muir Woods, CA

Lost

Stand still. The trees ahead and bushes beside you
Are not lost. Wherever you are is called Here,
And you must treat it as a powerful stranger,
Must ask permission to know it and be known.
The forest breathes. Listen. It answers,
I have made this place around you,
If you leave it you may come back again, saying Here.
No two trees are the same to Raven.
No two branches are the same to Wren.
If what a tree or a bush does is lost on you,
You are surely lost. Stand still. The forest knows
Where you are. You must let it find you.

  1. This poem is amazing! I just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to right that sweet comment on my blog. i'm sorry you had a hard time in high school too... but i'm glad to hear things get better. it's not that i'm not having a great time.... I HAVE made friends and i have grown so close to my family.... it just seems like for every one friend you make in high school, there are three people that hate you. maybe it's just my school (I made the decision to not go to public school but to go to private simply for the education). anyway thank you for being such a sweet sweet blog friend! xo
